Revealing local wildlife
Frogspawn!
2nd March, 2022
WILDLIFE NEWS

Between the 27th and the 28th January, over 60 Common Frogs were spawning in Logan's Meadow. I was very lucky to have both seen the frogs spawning in good light, and to have a good camera with me. Scroll down to see some photos and videos of the event, and listen out for the unearthly croaking noise that these amazing amphibians make. The fact that so many frogs had come here is a sure sign that frogs are generally doing very well in this city.

Look out for this spectacle in ponds and streams during the first warm days of the year. If you see frogspawn, do not take it home as it may transmit diseases to the local frog population. If you want a chance to see this close up, just dig a pond and then you will be helping wildlife too.

If you see another spectacular nature phenomenon, please tell me about it!
